The Beaches

Almeria has over 200 kilometres of coast with long, uncrowded stretches of sand, pretty sheltered coves and the rugged wilderness of Spain’s south eastern cape. Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera beaches are all within 15-20 mins drive from Cortijo Grande. There are lots of other beaches worth visiting with an hour’s drive. Cabo de Gata, a protected area of coastline, is particularly recommended.

 The Valley

Originally a farm, Cortijo Grande boasts orange, lemon, almond, fig and palm groves. With the introduction of residential villas came taller architectural tree plants such as conifer trees together with gorgeous flowering vines. Rosemary, thyme and lavender cover the hillside and these, together with orange blossom and pine, make walking in the valley truly a feast for the senses.

 Cabo de gata

Cabo de Gata has a natural park which is Andalusia’s largest coastal protected area, an isolated landscape with some of Europe's oldest geological features.
